Christopher-Michael

CHRISTOPHER-MICHAEL (aka's too many to list) was born in Cleveland, Ohio, but wets the mic in Texas. This former Army Medic spends his non poetry time as a registered nurse in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. He started his poetic life competing in spoken word events circa 1999 and was nurtured poetically at Under One Roof Afikan Amerikan Book store where they had open mic every Friday. God, Poetry, and Oxygen in that order he proclaims.

Christopher-Michael is celebrated for his ability to use the art of spoken word to captivate his audience. His credits include the 2005, 2006 Austin Slam Champ; 2006 Top Male Poet, Austin International Poetry Festival; 2007 Ranked #2 Poet in the Nation. He is a member of the 2005, 2006 Austin National Slam Team and 2007, 2008 Killeen National Slam Team.

October Brown (one of his many aliases) is also the co-founder and coach of the Killeen Poetry Slam Team which was Ranked #2 in the Nation for 2007 its first year in competition. He can be seen regularly hosting Tuesdays at the Killeen Open Mic and Killeen Poetry Slam (Rhyme or Die) which he co-founded both with his partner John Crow.
